Trials

Trials

A Poem by Alexander Emberson
"

Sometimes we just wanna lock ourselves away.

"

Deep rooted memories lay dormant amongst the trials of today
Life often awakens the ones I don't want to feel again;
The emotions I tucked away but could never forget

My head swells and aches from the ongoing battle
With every engagement won, another soon begins
I don't want to remember what I try so hard to forget

I'll just lay in this bed, dormant and numb
Though outside my door life knocks and beckons
I will not come to face those trials
