10 minute Library FightA Story by Ryan GirardI wrote this in 10 minutes during a challenge we had in my writing club. It's about a girl who fought someone in a library. That was our prompt. I did take some inspiration from Netflix's Iron Fist..."Heheheheh" He feels close. I'm ducked behind a bookshelf. Fantasy Section. I'm Jane, a teenager who fights evil. I was raised in a Monestary by monks, and right now, I've tracked this creep down to a library. I don't know who he is, but he's somewhere. Actually, it feels like he's everywhere. His laughs echo through the whole building, just barely heard over the storms. Suddenly I caught something. What is it? A shadow! I see him! I need a quick route to him, but I don't want to be to over the top. I looked up. These bookshelves seem sturdy. I quietly climb up one, and I feel it wobble just a little under my weight, until I see him. He's looking, and he has some kind of spear or sword. I can't tell in this dark. I creep down the bookshelf, holding my balance. He turns and looks straight at me. "Ahaha. There you are!" I jumped down near him. "I am here for you!" I yelled, as he looked right at me. I ran for him and kicked towards his head, he grabbed my kick, and stabbed with his spear. I dodge it, and managed to use his weight against him to swing my free leg back and throw him away. He swiped at my shoulder and I kicked him in the stomach. He backed away until throwing his weapon right for me. It just barely tagged my hip, leaving only a small scar. I ran for him and tried to punch his face, but missed. He pushed me into another isle, and ran for his spear. I ran after him, but he had gotten it, he swung at me twice, both times i dodged, but then he kicked me in my leg, which caught me off guard and I fell. He swung down and I snapped his spear. I jumped up and kneed his jaw. He was out. I ended up taking his spear with me, wouldn't wanna leave any finger prints. I left the area. I feel bad for tomorrow's librarians.
