June at Grandpa's House

June at Grandpa's House

A Poem by Kasey Miriam

Open field of grass
Young siblings play in the summer.
Water gun and a bucket,
They splash and play.
Grandpa watches with his camera raised
Hours of fun at grandpa's house
He says "ready"
They know what that means
Time to pose for a picture.
I spun around to look at grandpa
Lost my balance,
Then my brother nudged me.
Tried to catch myself,
And plopped into the bucket.
With his hands on his hips,
And that smirk on his face.
I'd say my brother looked pretty proud.

One you'll always remember to I'll bet. Mischief and kids always go together don't they. :) Youth, Grandpa and memories are treasures never to be forgotten. I can see the sun shining and I can feel the warmth right on that field too.

Nice one Kasey.

Great narrative. I really liked the details you bothered to put in your poem. The poem flows nicely, but the rhythm could be done a tad bit better. Overall a great write, I look forward reading more from you.
