The Pavement And Trees.

The Pavement And Trees.

A Poem by Poe Met Emily

Push against the current over and over again.
My veins are liquid under your gaze.
Can you tell, can you see, or is it only lies?
I like the quiet peace I stand beside you in.
How often does it get like this?
My body is nervous, my system drained.
You sit so close, you say my name.
How did we get there, get like this?
You look like an angel while you rest under the sun,
Dozing into your dreams as the salt burns me.
I want you to hold me and not let go...
I want to lie beside you, but I'm afraid.
You sit so close, you say my name.
How did we get here, get like this?
Those eyes, this feeling, it's so wonderful...
Do you feel it too?
