The quiet of the soul itself...

The quiet of the soul itself...

A Poem by Firestone Feinberg

The quiet of the soul itself
Remembers all that was --
Before the years of yesterdays
In memory be lost -- --

As hours fly and seconds dive
As fast as peregrine --
The spirit counts -- beginning -- end --
And all -- that -- be -- between.

what do you do now -- you wanna chat? are we friends?
I like the idea of the soul resting quietly in amaranthine timelessness ("before the yesterdays in memory be lost"). There is the real sense of eternity in the soul though we live only a blink of that eternity. And then the poem takes that concept of time and personifies it in the second stanza, bringing back the concept of eternity and the soul when mentioning the spirit. Thank you for writing this poem and sharing it with us.
