Journey

Journey

A Poem by Abdul Batin Osman Bey
"

A perfect night

"

Drinking Laziza

Under the darkened moon

The night air feels crisp

I pray to  my Lord, my God

Sitting lotus on the hood of my car

A half naked Egyptian woman is sleeping in my back seat

I get lost in the emotions of the wind

Feeling myself being lifted as I enter a trance state

Chanting the names of the Lord

My body becomes lighter

My heart stops

In-between worlds the angels speak

Wisdom understanding freedom

These are the things they speak of

Israel appears to me

Mecca is revealed to me

Hiding realities among our physical realms

Worlds upon words of equality unfold within my being

The cool wind shifts

Skunk humor brings me back down to earth

I open my eyes

A bunny is sitting in my lap

Praise be to the One God who builds us up with strength

From the time of our birth to time of our deaths

(Exhale: another gulp of Laziza)
