Hey Africa

Hey Africa

A Poem by Abdul Batin Osman Bey
"

A praising of Africa

"

When will you rise up O Africa?

When will the world see your majesty again?

There is none like you

Place of origin

A never diminishing light

Bringer of life

Mother of All

I look to you

Ancient Mother

Guide me

Help me to understand what went wrong

Absolve me of my sins

The sins I inherited by birth,

By my skin

Rise up O Africa

Allow me to bare witness to your unique position

Before I close my eyes embracing the long sleep
