I Know Two Silences

I Know Two Silences

A Poem by AKGingerly
"

A scribble as I journal through rough waters.

"
I know a silence you created,
A static popping in the air,
Of bodies in a shared space
and the words that should be there.

I know a silence that came later,
After the day you packed your things,
A silence that invades each corner now,
Since we've removed our rings.

I know a silence painful,
a yearning never met,
of feelings never spoken,
of a love that remains a debt.

I know a silence this day,
That rests gently in the air.
But despite the silence differences
Both are impossible to bear.
