Envy

I tickle your mind with small thoughts

I play with your emotions and twist your mood

You are yet to be aware of my power, my mind-playing scheme

You will soon find out how dominant I can be

Each sunrise makes me stronger

Each day I speak louder

You cannot brush me away anymore

I have sunk deep down into your core

Around your heart I have wrapped my claws

Over your eyes I have pulled a blinding wall 

The happiness of others will cause you sadness

At the achievements of co-workers you will snort in discontent 

Foul names you will call those whose physical beauty proudly show

The weight gain of a friend you will point out in delight

The failed marriage of you ex will make you feel as if you have had your revenge 

Your smile is never sincere

Your neighbour’s grass is always greener

I spark fury from within your heart

I draw what your eyes see through a deceptive glass

I whisper into your ear, ‘you are the one who should have all that’

I am one the seven deadly sins

I am perfect just the way I have been

I dictate your feelings and corrupt your health

I bathe in your unhappiness and I pamper with your stubbornness 

You are mine until I am yours…until you decide that we cannot live together anymore.

I agree. Envy make us blind and foolish. It is hard to control and make us blind to the good things in our life. We gain wisdom when we seek self-happiness and learn. This life isn't a competition. No weakness in the excellent poetry.
