Dare To Care

With heartache I read this:

'We are looking for a possible friend for a 15 year old boy with Asperger. He is currently doing his GCSC's and will be leaving school in July. He lives in ---------- and would like to have a friend of his age who likes football, the cinema and the gym.'

‎I can only imagine how this boy feels
Wanting friends around him
At least one
One friend who can accept his special needs
A friend who is happy to spend time with him
A friend who can laugh at his silly jokes
A friend to share those thoughts and feelings that others may not comprehend
He is alone in his lonely world
A world he cannot escape from
He needs an advert to find friends
I wonder if my youngest will be next
Will this world ever evolve?
Will society ever remove the blindfolds‎?
Ignorance is bliss
So they say
Surely not in this way
So if you read this please do share
Raise awareness
Don't shrug your shoulders
Dare to care.
