  • 19-year-old woman went missing after which police lodged a case against a Karnataka man for allegedly kidnapping her after befriending her, hiding his religious identity.
  • Station House Officer, Chiluatal police station, Neeraj Kumar Rai said that woman's father lodged a missing report on January 5 after she did not return home from college.
  • Police claimed that the woman's phone records are proof that she used to frequently talk to the man named Mehboob and the location was Karnataka.
  • After this, a police team was sent to Karnataka to trace the man and the kidnapped woman.
  • The SHO said that the case was lodged under sections 366, 363 of the IPC, besides the new anti-conversion law of the UP govt.
