Hope Contained

Hope Contained

A Poem by Aramey

As I waver between my fears,
a single tear threatens to make its leave.
How can a moment be so bittersweet,
as I stand upon new memories?
A longing, so unfulfilled,
to which I hunger, still.
Then there are the moments,
to which I feel surreal.
What is is fiction,
what is fact,
if I can't touch the words,
that seem to match.
So much uncertainty in life,
to be beheld,
upon the cusp of here, and now,
down the cliff of each moment's past.
A feather crosses my cheek,
as I humbly kneel atop the earth,
feeling every side of me,
and each new day's birth.
A softness that pledges to stay,
but in moments to fleeting to say.
How I want to believe,
these things, of which everyone dreams,
a faith that only uncertainty brings,
against all odds, signs, and facts of life,
as it flows babbling in gentle brooks,
and moving further into flooded streams.
Logic says that life shall go on,
that these moments are only a grain of sand,
but as I peer at empty hands,
it feels so much more,
and sad.
As a tear breaks away,
every hope and dream contained,
it brings with it a wish,
a desperate plea of hope, to stay.
A light to fill my heart,
with every pain that gives way,
but still I peer across the table,
and am stricken, by still an empty plate.
Such small things,
scrape to the bottom,
of my best reverie,
absence in the heart
is bound to break away.
but why...
must we wait?
Why do the rules of man and paper values,
take so many dreams this way.

You once again take to your sorrow and sadness with a grain of salt, hinting to the hope that is hidden in the dark corners of the areas surrounding your inner light.

You will persevere, you will move past this with time.

Just don't refuse help from those closest to you in proximity, heart or soul.

After all, they just want to see you happy.
