And I'm Breaking.

And I'm Breaking.

A Poem by Abigale LeCavalier

And I'm Breaking

I break myself down

into a million little pieces,

put them in a shoe-box

with whiskey and milk

and sand.

Hidden in the shadows

of the monster

under my bed;

in my closet,

in my

head.

In my head.

My head.

Albatrossed by

self doubt,

I'd rather hang

than break my back,

I'd rather hang

than take a breath.

And I sit here alone

turning possibilities

to salt,

playing charades

in the broken windows

of my perfect

little

house.

Love it, it is much like my own mind, close to falling apart, yet still sane enough to continue, very nice job, i would like it if you and I could work on something together, if thats ok with you.

I love this poem...it walks a fine line of utter insanity and a barely held together mind. There have been times in my life when I have felt this way and your poem conveys such a powerful and hopeless feeling. I really enjoyed it. Great write!
