A Carnival by the Sea

A Carnival by the Sea

A Poem by Ryan Abram
"

A reoccurring dream I have, about a colourful, yet fair carnival, on an ever stretching beach.

"
Cast upon a canvas, white:
A carnival of pretty papers,
bustling-
under flags of stripes and colour,
circled by soaring gulls
visiting from the wide,
naked,
painted sea,
airily a mirage,
disappears sweetly
Satin waves break
against stretching shores,
caressing sand,
demanding-
a gentle hand's touch,
Apollo's fire;
the beaming sun's warmth
Floating rings of cotton-
pink,
white,
ever so thin,
fade deftly-
into solemn sunlight,
evaporate-
into eternity
And like the paint crumbles from this jaded canvas,
so too does the castle...
before it rises once more.
