The Ophelia Drawing

The Ophelia Drawing

A Story by Abishai100
"

A vignette about modern dragons!

"
Alas, I had to offer up one more final Batman-esque vignette about modernism dangers, and this final yarn was inspired by the customs-dagger film Death and the Maiden.

Happy New Year, WritersCafe, and best smilies (signing off),

Harley Quinn was a college dropout. She was a psychology major at an Ivy League school and decided to go rogue and became a street-hoodlum and complete anarchist, going so far as to dress up in punk clothing and makeup to resemble a doll of mayhem. She looked like she was intriguingly fascinated by the complexity of justice, so she attracted a mystical netherworld male being named Venger, a complete man of honor. Venger wanted to see if Harley Quinn really was 'seduced' by the dark-side or actually possessed some inner fascinating curiosity about the depths of anarchy. Since Harley Quinn seemed beautiful by most male standards, Venger (a half-bat man-dragon who rose a black horse) wanted to ask her if she was interested in using courtship and romance to negotiate the intricacies of etiquette. However, Venger discovered that Harley Quinn seduced him in one year and made him think she considered him extremely gallant only to betray him completely, awakening him to the 'spiritual sore' of utter mediocrity. This is the first sign of the darkness of Eve in modern Earth.

{Venger & Harley Quinn}

Ursa was a daughter of a prestigious American family who was enrolled in a public high-school in Maine, New England. While in high-school, Ursa befriended a very charming and pensive young man, a fellow student, named Val. Val was drawn to Ursa's sense of obvious wit and idealism towards the 'dollhouse magic' of the high-school experience. Val started dating Ursa and wondered if she was the high-school girl of his dreams. However, they parted ways after high-school, and Val went to Europe to play soccer in Spain. He returned to New England ten years later, only to discover that Ursa was now a member of a radical homegrown American terrorist group called the Black Hand, which was allied to the fundamentalist terrorist group Cobra in Syria. Ursa confided this to Val after they reunited and once again made love. Val was shocked and demanded to know what Ursa expected from him, and Ursa told him to forget about her, because her new life was now completely one of unrelenting political diarism. Val realized that Ursa, his high-school sweetheart, was, in fact, a woman of deep scarlet wrath. This is the second sign of the racy darkness of Eve in modern Earth.

{Ursa & Val}

"But, good my brother,
Do not, as some ungracious pastors do,
Show me the steep and thorny way to Heaven
Whiles, like a puffed and reckless libertine,
Himself the primrose path of dalliance treads
And recks not his own rede." (Ophelia, from Shakespeare' Hamlet)

For if the world becomes more cognitive than is wise, will our social activities like World Cup soccer elevate our goodly civilization past these first-stage levels of juvenile dogma? Will terrorism cloud our democratic passions? This is the sort of End Times dialogue that comprises the new age diarist's folklore, and it's what the archangel Michael considers when he's plotting methods to defeat the great Dragon and subdue the deadly influence of the AntiChrist. For the real 'psychiatry' of modern daydreams is to reconcile Adam and Eve, and perhaps restore them to the level of 'brainy' dialogue. That's the real trick of democracy, and it's why I'm relating this tale of depression to you, since I'm a demi-god named Satan! May divinity find you in good deeds...and better detentions.
