The Seiko Paradise: Earth-Tell

Man develops a new way to redeem the species back to Paradise, and it involves the coexistence of two separate but righteous clans of people, Centurions and Priests!

I needed to return from retirement one last time to offer up this comics-stylized mankind adventure story, involving my love of the music-band Midnight Oil! This Biblical 'parable' was inspired by the films Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049.

"In the beginning, God created Adam and Eve. God's angel Lucifer rebelled against God and tempted Adam and Eve to become too ambitious. Human civilization was plunged into a complex evolution towards great tribulations and events. God sent Jesus Christ to redeem Adam and Eve back to God. The future promised a new kind of paradise on Earth, involving great people of great valor working with religious individuals to forge a new path towards civilization intelligence. This development encouraged God to see the cultivation of two clans of people --- Centurions and Priests. The Centurions were history-minded, governance-devotional, war-intelligent, and tradition-loving. The Priests were technology-centric, media-savvy, clan-oriented, and customs-fanatics. It was the bold Centurions who became the real 'diplomats' of humanity's progression back towards a more paradise-like state of democracy!"

"The Priests wanted to see their fertile daughters married to the bold and valiant Centurion sons, so they offered Centurions great dowries, and they promised to keep their own customs and biases to themselves while co-existing and procreating with the Centurions. This was not unlike the development of Israel and Palestine in the first epoch of human civilization! The Priests boasted very attractive daughters who were nevertheless very focused on their own mannerisms and ways of honoring beliefs. These daughters became wives to many Centurion sons, but they remained as 'muses' in the dwellings and palaces of the governing Centurions. These daughters of the Priests, given to the Centurions as brides with dowry-gifts, were messengers of religion."

"The Centurions chose as the banner-flag of the new Empire on Earth the 20th Century rock-music band Midnight Oil, who'd performed and created various and iconic songs about the human social value of understanding man's closeness to muscular spiritualism. The Centurions expressed in their political podiums the ideological value of Midnight Oil songs, almost as if these songs where rhetorical 'antidotes' to the great nationalism errors of humanity's past such as Nazi Germany. The Centurions decided to work with the Priests in the marketing of society-improving technologies, and they praised Midnight Oil rock-band songs as totems of great civilization journalism."

"The Priests often kept ornate trophies and relics or antiques of civilization ornaments. These items of either aesthetic or technological (or both!) value came in the form of new age glass home record/LP-players, Apple iBooks, and rechargeable recyclable batteries. The Centurions admired these 'toys' of great human intelligence and imagination and considered them a testament to the Priests' commitment to finery, since the Priests were not as devoted to governance-diarism like the Centurions!"

"The Centurions sometimes dressed in proud armor and feathers and sometimes in urban-appropriate thick trench-coats. The Centurions sometimes attended the great tech-fairs hosted by the Priests, during which they remarked on the human value of praising intelligence and the development of the sciences and machinery in general. However, the Centurions remained distant from the Priests, content that their 'philosophical simpatico' was sufficient since it came in the form of family-bonds (dowry-marriages!). The Centurions considered these tech-fairs a testament to mankind's return to democracy after the sinful fall from Paradise and alienation from God."

"Since the Centurions praised many of the technological achievements of the Priests, the Priests gifted the Centurions with fine articles of modern jewelry or tech-accessories! These tech-accessories/jewels sometimes came in the form of Seiko calculator wrist-watches, a real favorite of the governance-minded Centurions who appreciated the on-go convenience of being able to quickly calculate quantities, ratios, and equations while working in the city or overseeing the activities of laborers and inventory-specialists! These Seiko calculator wristwatches became a 'sign' of great peace between the Centurions and the Priests."

"Since the daughters of the Priests who were often given to Centurion sons as dowry-gift brides were very attractive, they were sometimes considered 'sirens' of sensuality by society. This worried God who wondered if such social vanities would once again lead mankind down towards a dark erroneous path of overindulgent finery! God sent messages to the Centurions in their dreams, hoping this new 'breed' of peoples would seek peace through dowry-marriages with the Priests by honoring the subtlety of sensual marriage more than its inherent dogma qualities. God remained hopeful!"

"The Centurions hosted the World Cup soccer tournaments in various iconic cities in Europe to remind humanity of how sports always encouraged peace. These World Cup tournaments were honored by special glass soccer ball sculptures signifying the Centurions' general admiration of the interest in social activities that were competitive in nature but also peaceful in spirit! The World Cup soccer tournaments became an arena in which the Centurions would regularly remind the Priests of the civilization value of sportsmanship, which is why God also really liked these fair-play events."

"The Priests were not really skilled at soccer, so the Centurions arranged special women's ice hockey events, often televised, as prestigious and iconic American colleges/universities such as Pittsburgh, Dartmouth, Stanford, and Rice. These women's ice hockey events saw many daughters of Priests who were more interested in jovial play than trained bravado participating! The Centurions and Priests equally enjoyed watching these alternative sporting events in the media, since these social activities reminded them of the newfound sense of human optimism towards gracious living."

"As civilization became much more rational in these ways, recreational activities became much more picturesque and reminiscent of the pre-fall Paradise days of Eden, before Adam and Eve were tempted by Lucifer (the adversarial Devil!) to defy God's laws of sanity. Such picturesque activities included the riding of eco-friendly hybrid advanced/modern hovercrafts on beaches in Australia during the summer months, activities enjoyed by both the Priests and the Centurions! God blessed these activities, since it was guiding mankind back towards a natural state of non-indulgent diarism."

"Comic books became a very popular social art form, since they represented mankind's love and praise of 'simplified' creativity and came in the form of 'street-vernacular' values oriented teachings! These comic books presented outlandish and colorful avatars called 'superhumans' who exhibited extraordinary powers, used in dramatic struggles between good and evil! Comic books became to modern man what cave-drawings and hieroglyphs were to the ancients --- a way to socially celebrate democratic imagination."

GOD: It seems Earth is once again becoming a haven for dreamers!

LUCIFER: We'll see if mankind can maintain its sense of customary composure.
GOD: There's no reason to think civilization will continue to be plagued!
LUCIFER: As long as the Priests/Centurions continue seeking peace, life will be simple.
GOD: It's the simple life that forms the mind's praise of basic faith!
LUCIFER: There will always be the temptation to indulge in competitiveness.
GOD: That's why the Centurions celebrate World Cup soccer to forge dreams!

LUCIFER: We'll see what kind of 'drama' the future unfolds.
