Greyhound

A Story by Abishai100
"

A psycho invades a film-festival in a ski-town to make a deranged message about Greyhound buses, and Batman must intervene to restore daylight!

"
So here's one last story, I know I said it wouldn't be, but it represents my American fascination with the iconic Greyhound bus-transportation company. I couldn't sign off with a due capitalism-fable nod to the symbolic modern Greyhound company, so I hope you all will read it and really enjoy it!
Thanks so much (signing off),

A small ski-town in America was host to a Sundance film-festival in which various media figures and thespians arrived to celebrate the art of movie-making while enjoying the skiing amenities of the snowy mountain-town itself.

The people gathered in October for the Sundance festival and some stayed at a nearby more settled and civilized urban area and then took the Greyhound bus to the town itself for the film-festival events and activities. The Greyhound bus therefore became a nice transportation symbol of the general social energy of the town event that October itself!

There were cool actors and attractive actresses who showed up for the film-festival. There was much snow-cone enjoyment and skiing and mingling and wine and romance and of course outdoor movies. The event coordinator stated in the press that this event would create a terrific boon for the Greyhound bus company itself! The photographer assigned to cover the Sundance event made sure not to miss any of the real humanity in the small ski-town.

Greyhound did indeed become a terrific transit and travel symbol of the Sundance film-festival in that small ski-town in America that October. Greyhound had been a respected American bus-transportation company, offering lines going all around the great nation! Greyhound would draw in some nice media attention at Sundance and bring back some youth-interest in a company arguably dimmed since its earlier more golden days in the 20th Century.

However, all was not well in boom-town. A psycho showed up at the Sundance event at that small ski-town and he brought a busload of prostitutes he paid and hired from a local major city (or cities!). This psycho wore a hood and ominously wielded an axe. he likewise paid his prostitutes to dress up like female clowns or harlequins and stalk the attendees and tourists at the Sundance festival. The purpose of this psycho was to undermine the Sundance festival, movies, and the Greyhound bus company itself.

As the news spread that a deranged madman was poisoning the Sundance festival with his Greyhound bus of harlequin-prostitutes, paying them (or rather death-threatening them!) to become his slaves of crime and vice, Hollywood (USA) celebrities such as Leo DiCaprio and Tom Cruise mentioned that this smalltown Sundance ski-town tragedy was a true sign of American frailty!

Fortunately, one of the actors who attended the Sundance event was actually Batman, America's favorite secret masked vigilante. No one knew Batman was actually the popular American actor Christian Boles. Boles/Batman decided to track and stalk this hooded prostitute-recruiting Sundance psycho and determine exactly why he wanted to make a bad media spotlight on movies and the Greyhound bus company! No one wanted this nightmare. Boles/Batman was determined to save Sundance.

As Batman did his detective-work, he tracked the hooded Sundance psycho to a cabin where he was checked in as a normal visitor/tourist. He cuffed the psycho, sure that it was the culprit, and questioned him about his motivations. The psycho explained that he wanted Americans to see that everyday social activities, especially those spotlighted in the media, ironically undermined the dignity of American women and the dollar-spirit of democratic 'dolls' such as Greyhound. In other words, this psycho told Boles/Batman that he was actually on some bizarre feminist crusade! How would women respond?

PSYCHO: "Batman, you have no conception of the depth and gravity of the prophetic Lake of Fire. It was created by the natural vice in the hearts and minds of everyday men. It was a reflection of man's rebellion against God. Today, people don't value Greyhound or Starbucks, and this Starbucks terrorism I painted was a symbol of that reality. Regardless of what happens to me, the Lake of Fire will always serve as a symbol of civilization design. That was my motivation, you see!"

Batman returned from the Sundance festival oddly slightly wiser. He decided to purchase a fabric-painting/print of an Apple iPhone and mounted it in his kitchen in his Estate, to remind him that life's amenities should not make men arrogant about convenience or luxurious culture! He'd remember that Sundance psycho's oddly poignant message about the dangerous neglect of civilization trophies such as Greyhound. Batman would cherish his capitalism-praising iPhone art!

After the Sundance psycho was placed in a mental institution for the criminally insane, he requested he be allowed to watch the movie Killing Zoe (Roger Avary) in his chamber-room on the TV and VCR they supplied him! The psycho was afforded this amenity but ordered to take psychiatric notes on why the bank-robbery/crime film motivated him to think about the modern value of civics repentance. The Sundance psycho decided Killing Zoe was a grail to him. What would Batman have said?
