A comic book folk-tale about 'academic darkness' surround blood diamond dialogue in modern global exchange/capitalism. Inspired by the democratic film Blood Diamond (Leo DiCaprio). Thanks for reading,

==== Princeton University is a prestigious Ivy League school in the USA. It's the home of great scholars and celebrity graduates who made a real impact on our world. Princeton boasts incredible science as well as literary education at the undergraduate and graduate levels. It's compared to the top-tier Ivy League schools like Dartmouth, Yale, and Harvard. ![]() PRINCETON STUDENT: I just don't want to graduate from Princeton and end up as an American jailbird or criminal-convict! ![]() The modern world of globalized capitalism suffered from a serious problem involving the mass exchange of blood diamonds or conflict diamonds from South Africa. These gems were mined by warlords and used to finance terrorist regimes around the world. Blood diamond highways now stretched from Africa to Europe and were threatening the gem market quality in North America, since inspectors simply couldn't monitor what diamonds were being used in the dizzying exchange to finance terrorism and what diamonds were pure! This sort of normalized globalized commercial evil was destroying the credibility of the modern diamond market, and it was nearly undetectable. ![]() A Princeton University economics professor named Stana Vader and her TA Kristen Minerva decided to do some underground capitalism research on the globalized exchange of these conflict diamonds from Africa/Europe. They learned of major exchange hubs endorsed by corrupt Dutch barons in Belgium and British Columbia. They learned of storehouses of these African gems stretching out in safe-boxes in banks across Europe. Vader/Minerva decided to go undercover in Europe that summer while on work-leave from Princeton and went on a vigilante-thief campaign to steal the blood diamonds held in safe-boxes in banks across Europe and redistribute them to proper diamond inspectors for public cleansing! ![]() Stana Vader and Kristen Minerva decided to then travel to the residential area called Princeton in New Jersey (no relation or link to the university of the same name mind you!) and set up a comic book store where they sold various adventure comics about professional and daring super-thieves. These comics included Thief of Thieves, Gambit, and the iconic Pink Panther comics. Their hope was to spread awareness of how political infiltration and espionage and even professional James Bond oriented thievery had become part of the modern management and governance associated with capitalism temperance and policing! Princeton (New Jersey) had suddenly become a Christmastime comics-shopping residential area of great capitalism-graphing diaries. People were suddenly interested in blood diamond impact and espionage infiltration in everyday capitalism folklore. ![]() However, Vader (Stana) and Minerva (Kristen) began disagreeing about the nature and quality of capitalism-vigilantism. Stana Vader had already renamed herself as the underground blood-diamond infiltrator/thief Green Hornet, while Kristen Minerva gave herself the street-pickpocket animal instinct alias Cheetah. Green Hornet ('Hornet') and Kristen Cheetah ('Cheetah') now disagreed about the level of involvement in blood diamond conspiracies. Hornet took a conservative policing role, while Cheetah took a much more radical and somewhat dangerously terrorist view. The two realized they'd disagreed now about basic American living values, as reflected in democracy films like the jarring The Deer Hunter (Robert De Niro). ![]() HORNET: This blood-diamond mission is one of political intelligence! CHEETAH: No, it's one of raw interception, Stana. HORNET: No, blood-diamond regulation has to be done in terms of democratic calmness. CHEETAH: This is a time of great radical vigilante, not temperance and humility! HORNET: No, Kristen, we can't let our passions dive us into street terrorism. CHEETAH: The people are confused and worried about gem sullying. HORNET: There's no monitor or effective policing, and we can't descend to terrorist-levels! CHEETAH: What can we rely upon in standard or normal civics, Hornet? HORNET: We must keep faith in the pillars of visible law, Cheetah. CHEETAH: You insist that this is simply a crusade of James Bond proportions? HORNET: To subvert the influence of baron blood diamonds, we only have to create dialogue. CHEETAH: Dialogue with espionage calmness ain't sufficient for this sort of radical interception! HORNET: We don't need to conceive of blood-diamond hijacking in terms of complete subterfuge. CHEETAH: Why not? HORNET: Well, for one thing, adding fuel to the fire only makes for more street avarice. CHEETAH: You mean more pirates will surface in times of great asset motion paranoia? HORNET: Exactly, Cheetah! CHEETAH: Well, I just don't see how simply asset juxtaposition will unnerve our worries about warlords! HORNET: You have to be calm while dealing with monsters, lest we become monsters too, Cheetah. CHEETAH: I ain't no monster...I just prefer more radical guerrilla tactics for blood-diamond extraction. HORNET: We can't let our passions ruin our careers in Princeton, Kristen. CHEETAH: Maybe. HORNET: I insist you read more about the value of objective democratic reform through publicity. CHEETAH: No, Hornet; we must part ways; my methods drive me towards more active forms of terrorism! HORNET: Then may God keep you with us and safe in some dialogic form or fashion, Kristen Minerva. CHEETAH: You go your own way too, my once dancing mentor. HORNET: Call me Hornet. CHEETAH: Call me Cheetah. ![]() What was certain was that Hornet/Cheetah agreed about the sociocultural global impact of blood-diamond hellmouths. What they disagreed about ultimately was the level of radicalness in the treatment of this very modern capitalism disease. Diamonds are mineral-gems that come from coal after all, and we use clean coal technologies now to think of energy-conservation. This makes the idea of diamond dynamics on Earth very relevant in modern talks about the beauty of capitalism, right? This is precisely what Hornet/Cheetah didn't agree about anymore, and one went the proverbial way of more radical and dark dance. How would this blood diamond dialogue shape future diagonals (in Princeton and elsewhere)? ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2021 Abishai100 |
