David Kaka and Emil Kuyt cover the great quarterfinal match between Brazil and the Netherlands in the fancy 1994 World Cup in America.

"
A very fun sports fanfiction about an iconic quarter-final game of the exciting 1994 World Cup , which was hosted by the United States. Enjoy!

The 1994 World Cup soccer tournament took place in the USA. This was a great opportunity for the Americans to finally host the iconic international soccer tourney and simultaneously showcase one of its most talented squads ever assembled for its hosting experience. The game stadiums stretched from LA to NY. The sponsors were as varied as Adidas, Gillette, and JVC. The fans packed the stadiums that summer!

The favorite teams included Brazil, Argentina, Netherlands, Italy, and Germany. The American team also boasted some nifty athletes, giving American fans a special boost while hosting the World Cup, the greatest soccer tournament in the world.

SPORTS-WRITER: What sets the World Cup apart is the sheer color of fanfare produced by the exciting matchups on TV.

SPORTS-CASTER: We're excited to see which favorites will dominate, and if there're underdogs who provide TV thrills.

SPORTS-FAN: It's true that the World Cup is great, and the Americans are hosting it this summer with great flair and passion!

The two main journalists covering the World Cup 1994 tourney in the USA were in fact fans of the Netherlands and Brazil, since they're from the Netherlands and Brazil! The Dutch journalist was Emil Kuyt, a dashing Amsterdam writer who wanted to see if this year's Dutch national soccer team would produce enough fire to surpass the other big contenders like Brazil. Kuyt was a great writer/journalist.

The other journalist was Brazilian David Kaka, a man born in Algeria ironically but grew up in Brazil before finally becoming a journalist/writer for ESPN in the USA. Kaka was cheering on his Brazilian team while working alongside Kuyt for the World Cup in the USA, tracking his fellow journalist who's simultaneously biased for the Dutch national team! David Kaka was a real nerdist of soccer writing.

"It's ironic then, that we're covering the Brazil-Netherlands game, the QuarterFinal match of the 1994 World Cup which will take place in Dallas (Texas), David!"

"That's correct, Emil, and we're anticipating a high-scoring tight game between these rather equally matched talented teams showcasing their talents before a TV and stadium audience on this hot Texan day of July 9."

"Now, we know David that the Netherlands have boasted incredible national soccer squads in its rich past, including the terrific 1974 'Total Football' team led by the dynamic and unpredictable Johann Cruyff, who went on to work with club soccer teams in coaching/managerial capacity."

"True, and Emil, Brazil has likewise produced incredible team lineups in its storied past, and it's boasted the legendary player Pele and the awesome 1982 Brazil World Cup team led by the gifted captain midfielder Socrates, and like your 1974 Cruyff team which failed to win the title shockingly, the 1982 Socrates Brazil team lost that one too...to Italy!"

"Well, David, I admit the fans for the Dutch side for this game against Brazil have come out in great beauty."

"It's a beautiful game, Emil, and the Brazilian fans in Texas today want to show TV audiences that soccer is Latin."

"The rosters for the Netherlands and Brazil are amazing this day --- both squads feature outstanding athletes including a relatively young Bergkamp (Dutch) and the hot Romario (Brazilian)."

"Everyone expects the Brazilian 1-2 punch of Romario-Bebeto to deliver a thrilling game for the Brazilians, but you can't count out the field skills of Dutch stars and rising stars like Bergkamp and Valckx, so the competition will be gritty."

"It's tough to say who'll score first in this one, right?"

"Wow, Emil, Brazil's Branco has scored first, giving Brazil a nice 1-0 lead now."

"Too bad, but Dutch Winter has followed up with a tying 1-1 score just 5 minutes later."

"And now, Bergkamp has scored yet another goal, giving the Netherlands a 2-1 lead, David, haha!"

"Emil, the final score was Brazil's triumph, a mighty 3-2 come-from-behind win thanks to Romario and Bebeto, and we'll all remember this modern classic as a competition gem hosted in the great democratic USA, no?"

"That's right, David, and we'll think on how democracy-hosting reflects a serious modern commitment to anti-terrorism and political globalization and sportsmanship, events like today which help us put behind us the horrors of terrorism such as the awful 1972 Munich Summer Olympics terrorism-massacre!"

"Justice is blind, Emil, but I think Brazil has shown us today that prolific competitiveness can be sportsmanlike and cheerful and not related in any way to the modern horrors of war/terrorism."

"I think, David, that we'll all remember Netherlands-Brazil 1994 in Dallas as a special trophy of anti-terrorism design."

"True."

So, after this modern classic World Cup game between talented Brazil and Netherlands was covered by the two smart Brazilian/Dutch journalists, David Kaka and Emil Kuyt, there was a special nod to the role modern media and sports-coverage plays in the trumpeting of globalization-era networking ideological anti-terrorism dogma. Hail to America, the host of this very dioramic soccer match!
