"

A journalistic approach to movie fanfiction featuring a symbolic work of great American airline decisions.

"
A dioramic work of fanfiction about the journalistic endeavor to cast a work of American historical relevance, a movie, through the modernism lens of wrought dilemma, Sully, an inventive 'folk-tale' about American...daylight. Enjoy!
DISCLAIMER: There's no actual tie or connection with the actual film or crew/set involved with the actual ambitious Hollywood project.

"I'm Isaac Satan, an Algerian-American movie critic from Morocco, and my wife Elka is also a movie critic now, and we're in the USA to interview the cast and film-maker behind the amazing historical work Sully, a story about a daring American airline pilot who along with his skilled co-pilot managed to land a passenger airplane successfully onto the Hudson River in New York and prevent a massive urban disaster in modern times. We're all familiar with the horror of 9/11, when hijacked passenger airplanes were crashed into the World Trade Center in NYC by foreign terrorists. Well, Sully invites us to look into the very differing story of an unusual American pilot who skillfully maneuvered his American airplane into a safe crash-landing, which is the sort of 'folk-tale' really inspiring us now, which is why Elka and I are interviewing and creating this special 'movie fan-fiction' if you will!"

"The American film was made with a large budget of $60 million but grossed over $240 million in the box-office. The film features an incredible American cast and great reporting scenes and symbolic journalism, which is why Isaac and I, Elka, consider this a righteous and valued American story-cinema about the offbeat tale of unusual piloting in New York, a story giving us an alternative to the horror of the hijacked planes of 9/11 in New York (USA)!"

"As Elka and I prepare to meet and greet the cast and film-maker of this incredible and somewhat ironic and offbeat Hollywood (USA) movie, we're excited about the true prospect of finding out good things about the American airline industry and perhaps about ourselves...from the super film crew/cast. The interview experience should entice our fan-fiction interests in real heroism storytelling, something under-appreciated in America maybe!"

ELKA: There's a strong contrast between history/fact and movies/storytelling these days, Isaac.
ISAAC: That's right, Elka, and we've interviewed both the actual pilot Sully and the great actor who portrayed him.

ELKA: I almost feel like were 'Catwoman and Batman' doing this nifty Sully-diorama, man!
ISAAC: Why not?

"Now, the actual passenger airplane had a malfunctioning part which forced the pilots to try to steer the plane around after it took off from the airport and return it to the landing station, but the pilots realized they'd have to perform some kind of miracle duck-dodge to just 'park' or crash-land their passenger vessel onto the Hudson River nearby if at all possible to avoid a crash into the city of New York and prevent many casualties of modern flight."

ELKA: Was this a scary project for you all?
ISAAC: Was it unusual recreating such a dramatic experience for New Yorkers?
ACTOR: I mean, we're up there thinking and wondering what Sully and his crew were going through!
ACTOR: It's like recreating the Titanic, and you have to be real sharp about the face of darkness.

ELKA: There were investigations into the crash-landing, right?
ISAAC: Were you impressed by this depiction in the actual Hollywood film, Mr. Sully?
SULLY/PILOT: Me and my co-pilot just had to do what was absolutely needed.
ELKA: So you thought the film captured this point?
PILOT: We all thought the cast and film-maker did a fairly honest work here.

ELKA: It seems such an incident doesn't lend itself to much translation or libertine imagination!
ISAAC: True; you have to put yourself into their shoes and realize a life-or-death condition is humbling.
ELKA: It must've been strange for the people involved to go through the experience of just watching Sully!
ISAAC: That's right, Elka; it's like watching Godzilla but with eerily diligent proportions.

ELKA: So the message is to never underestimate the importance of portraying heroism?
ISAAC: What if you all had to portray the experiences of the hijacked passengers of 9/11?
ACTOR: That 9/11 thing was entirely separate, so this was a humbling work of American experience!
ACTOR: Right; we're framing differing heroism within that modern complex scope of wrought transcendence.

ELKA: It seems the cast would consider doing a movie about 9/11!
ISAAC: Even if that's not guaranteed, Sully was a great American trophy, despite its eeriness.
ELKA: All in all, we'd say this was a terrific Catwoman-Batman venture, Isaac.
ISAAC: I'd agree with you...directly, darling.
