Anvil of Hell: The Maxx (Graphic-Manga!)

The Maxx and his female spirit-guide Kimberly engage in a special mission to save Earth's distanced soul.

This is a dystopian diorama-manga short (concept!) I've been working on for some time now, inspired by the awesome comics series The Maxx, which was for a time adapted into an equally-awesome short-lived cartoon. Enjoy (and stay safe!),

The modern city was a den for darkness, pitting man against his own mind, forged by the shadows of unbalanced capitalism and livened in an evil way by the hand of anti-capitalism terrorism (e.g., 9/11). In this climate of shadowy life, the antihero known as the Maxx rose to prominence, and he was guided on Earth by his female spirit-friend Kimberly (Kim). This dark city needed a serious cure from the proverbial 'anvil of hell' created by architectures of unchecked diagonals.

MAXX: The Earth was once a place of neon imagination, and we must find a way to harness that energy of dreams.

The city was overrun after-hours by masked and painted street gangs like the Furies and the Diamonds who made vandalism and extortion a high-art form. Max and Kimberly (Kim) viewed these forces of the modern US city a real sign of the degradation of Christian civilization!

KIMBERLY (KIM): The 'anvil of hell' refers to the megalith of great ambition, sadly untempered by any thought of dance!

The Maxx knew that he didn't want Kimberly (Kim) completely immersed in this very dangerous modern dystopian crusade to save mankind's utter soul! Therefore, he decided to draw out the great forces of Earthly magic himself and to dispel the influences and spheres of darkness created by new era demons and devils who made pain and lust something of a painting.

MAXX: We have to dispel the notion that the Coronavirus will destroy man's imagination regarding indoor life too.

Maxx and Kimberly (Kim) knew of the horrid dangers created by inventive forms of capitalism corruption in this new era, including the trafficking of deadly blood-diamonds or 'conflict diamonds, mined in Africa by warlords and even sometimes financed by invisible capitalism barons in North America and Europe as well, leading to a sullying of the global gem trade, a sure sign of the deterioration of Earthly minerals and treasures.

The Maxx and Kimberly (Kim) worked in tandem in this new Earth as a sort of 'duo' of daylight, and they're characterized by their fans as the modern epitome of the vanguarding of justice and the re-presentation of human innocence, despite their rather awkwardly naturalism orientation and primal appearances in the normal world today.

KIMBERLY (KIM): We're not messengers of punishment or regret but rather reminders of the value of Christian diagonals.

It is thought that Maxx and Kimberly (Kim) sort of formed a new Earth magic regarding the once promised promise of globalized capitalism. They celebrated kids buying Nike shoes and mothers buying Parmalat milk and any other living vestige of commercial vanity that really reminded humanity of its love of profit imagination! After all, we need Max/Kim in a world beset by the 'shadow' of utter disease.

The adversaries of the Maxx and Kimberly (Kim) were great and included the Furies, the Serpent-Woman of Babel, Pinhead of Hades, and of course the capitalism crimelord known as Top-Dollar. This sort of crusade was more about the evangelism of tangible agony rather than the explicit suggestion of the loss of human fertility!

LEATHERFACE: I'm the dreaded manslayer described in the Book of Daniel, here to bring the Maxx a hellish challenge!

LIVEWIRE: I'm the adversary of Kimberly, here to sway men away from the pride of crusading virtue and urban dance.

Maybe the Maxx and Kimberly (Kim) might benefit from the metaphysical or even magical memory of those great crusading heroes and missionaries of Earth's past like Richard the Lionhearted and Robin Hood and Eliot Ness. After all, any mission involving the direct mobilization of capital dogma requires great images of explicit diligence.

Two after-world deities decided to debate about this complex dystopian crusade carried on by the Maxx and Kimberly (Kim). These two 'avatar-entities' were none other than Shiva (god of destruction and meditation) and Pennywise (demon-clown of anarchy). They conversed and debated about the great Maxx on a mountain in the Himalayas in wintertime.

SHIVA: No heartfelt cause is ignored by the forces of the universe.
PENNYWISE: This is a price-race of pride, and the Maxx will be destroyed!
SHIVA: The Maxx is aided by his benevolent spirit-friend Kimberly!
PENNYWISE: Well, we doubt this sort of idealism can hold against the shadows of fear.
SHIVA: Fear is expensive, and this crusade of Maxx can be construed as commercial!
PENNYWISE: Commercial?
SHIVA: Yes, after all, if we balance ambition with humbling money, we remember life goals.
PENNYWISE: Life goals?
SHIVA: Of course; thinking about the 'practicality' of peace is what drives the great warrior!
PENNYWISE: Is Maxx really a great warrior, Lord Shiva?
SHIVA: He's certainly a real advocate of Earthly dance.
PENNYWISE: Well, he might endanger the damsel Kimberly (Kim)!
SHIVA: I doubt Maxx ignores the fertile innocence of Kim in this quest to engage hellmouth.
PENNYWISE: What do you mean by hellmouth, Shiva?
SHIVA: I'm simply referring to the generative grammar of civilization-diagonals!
PENNYWISE: Diagonals?
SHIVA: Why, yes; a diagonal of thought refers to the insistence that creativity creates life.
PENNYWISE: Life?
SHIVA: To fight death, you need a simple or basic axis for diction.
PENNYWISE: What's so stupid about gibberish?
SHIVA: Anarchy is fine...as long as it does not come at the expense of mass dialogue.
PENNYWISE: Well, can the Maxx really find ways to deal with the sheer force of ambition?
SHIVA: Everyone likes medals; it seems this crusade of Maxx is one of...democracy.
PENNYWISE: Perhaps you're right!

Can the heroic Maxx and Kimberly (Kim) overcome the raw power of modern world vanities? Can they find innovative ways to combat the stark realities of perceptible and even tangible darkness? When light engages with darkness, can we find creative ways to conceive of peace...and dogma? Perhaps Maxx needs to think like a 'dogma' ninja. Earth is patient.
