A quick and short-and-sweet love-letter to American baseball and cards-collections. Enjoy!

==== My name's Amlan Satan. I used diamond-money to open an American baseball-cards store in Kansas City. I collect mostly Royals memorabilia and Royals cards. My store offers great Royals items valued greatly and of great sacred value to real sports collectors like Mike James, Emran Khan, and Ashika Jones. ![]() I grew up cheering for the Braves, Phillies, Royals, and Cubs. However, I also like the Blue Jays and Athletics. Baseball is a great pastime for me, and I played as a youngster and collected cards since I was young. However, Royals cards-collection is my primary interest in the world of sports consumerism. I consider myself therefore a nerdist of Royals cards. ![]() SPORTS-WRITER: "You need money for sports mementos, and money creates the spokes of store appeal now. ![]() One of my favorite Royals cards is a Donruss Bo Jackson card. This isn't the vaulted Topps Traded 1986 Royals Bo Jackson rookie-card, but it's pretty and great for fans of the Royals and for baseball-cards in general. That's why it's part of my store showcase in Kansas City. ![]() I also own the George Brett Royals cards, and one of them is a vintage/classic that I won't sell for anything less than $1000, and real-time collectors are willing to dish up the cash for this kind of a sports-memento item, found only in Kansas City, of course! ![]() When I was a kid, I was a big fan of the Royals pitcher Bret Saberhagen, and the Topps card I have of this iconic Kansas City pitcher won't disappoint any fan of baseball or of Kansas City. I won't trade this card for anything less valuable than, say, a Wade Boggs rookie-card or a Rickey Henderson rookie-card. It's a keeper really. ![]() Here's a cool Al Cowens card that'd make any cabinet-case of a serious Kansas City resident/fan and an aficionado of Royals trophies/items. Cowens reminded us why we love that royal-blue on the diamond-field for American baseball, which is why this terrific baseball-card is part of my store showcase. ![]() All this baseball imagination reminds me why I bought my nephew an MLB video-game featuring an excellent Royals team, which recently won the World Series. He likes simulating/re-creating the Royals title, and baseball in this virtual environment can be a terrific indoor sports-sentimental activity for our quarantine era in America. ![]() My wife thinks I'm a Royals nut, but ironically I met her at a Royals game when she caught a ball hit by a Royals batter. We fell in love and got married in April and moved to Kansas City before I opened my cards-store. She's the diamond in my life, and I'm psyched when I think about what makes Royals baseball fanfare so reflective of modern American...dreams! ![]() WIFE (Shelbye): I accompany Amlan to the local Royals minor-league games, since he likes the feeling of created worlds. ![]() Hey, I might be a baseball-cards nut, but what makes my experience with Royals cards-collection so representative of American pastime is that it reminds me why I like Kansas City celebrity-players who help me celebrate the raw beauty of American dollars. ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2021 Abishai100 |
