Two idealists living in Chicago (USA), were about to become martyrs.

AMLAN SATAN: Husband; teacher; blood-diamond politics writer; Dartmouth graduate

ESMERELDA POINTE: Wife; social worker; eco-activist; Seton Hall graduate

Amlan came home one night from a bus-ride to discover his darling young social-worker wife Esmerelda was trapped and killed in their burning apartment. Arson was suspected. Signs shown she'd been raped! Now, Esmerelda was challenging the Chicago underworld in a landmark eco-conservation case regarding a corrupt power plant, and she may have been murdered by henchmen seeking to eliminate her adversarial influence.

Amlan had to bury his darling wife in the Chicago cemetery. He saw a crow-bird land on her tombstone while he was walking away, after he made his peace and offered his serious tears. That night, Amlan Satan was found killed in his Chicago apartment, poisoned, most likely by the same underworld henchmen who burned his apartment and killed his wife Esmerelda.

Once more, the crow-bird was seen at the Chicago cemetery where young idealistic married couple Amlan/Esmerelda now laid buried/dead. The crow-bird resurrected the spirit of Satan (Amlan) to become a zombie-vigilante named the Crow.

AMLAN SATAN ("The Crow"): I'll hunt down the moving legs of the underworld and go to the roots of its Chicago past.

The Crow learned the underworld was busy smuggling blood-diamonds (warlord-mined gems from Africa/Europe used to fund terrorism) into North America and building on its historic dark tradition of expanding its criminal dominions. They'd assigned new city 'watchmen' or 'hitmen' to ride around in helmets on bikes to shoot down cops, politicians, citizens, and random people, and anyone who dared defy this new 'blood-diamond underworld intelligence' in Chicago.

The Crow (Amlan Satan) fashioned himself a fancy vigilante-costume and created a wooden crossbow and fitted it with soft-tip arrows that explode upon contact and release a potent sedative gas. He used these arrows and acquired post-life archery skills to shoot town the bike-riding gargoyles of the Chicago underworld and make it easier for the police to target them as straight evil enforcers. The Crow became a celebrity!

THE CROW: I'm going to steal the blue-sapphire diamond Vanderbilt from the Chicago Fed Bank, owned by the underworld.

The Crow recruited a handful of young teenagers in the city who'd be willing to dress up like crime-fighters and create necessary street distractions and theatrics while he prowled on rooftops trying to take out those nasty and dark Chicago underworld 'bike-riders' in the city. The Crow called these vigilante-volunteers the Masked Force.

THE CROW: I'll walk into the Chicago Fed bank dressed like a Middle Eastern merchant seeking photos of the Vanderbilt.

Once inside the bank, the Crow opened a fake merchant's account for his new toy-store, and he brought sample toy water-guns which would be sold at this new Chicago store. He requested to be escorted into the safe-box area of the vault-room so he'd both deposit his own (fake!) diamonds and take photos of the blue-sapphire Vanderbilt owned by the Chicago underworld.

BANK MANAGER: Our bank is the oldest and proudest Chicago institution...representing real patriots.

THE CROW: Alright, my little water-gun's filled with acid, and these photos of the Vanderbilt are for Interpol; cooperate.

The Crow lifted the Vanderbilt away from underworld hands and minds and continued his street-vigilantism against the dominion 'bike-riders' still terrorizing the good and helpless people of Chicago. Within two years, the underworld was completely disintegrated, scandalized, disbanded, and disreputed. The police had won the Great War.
