Ares-Titus: War of the Daredevils

A Story by Abishai100

A war-diorama featuring a canonical battlefield-engagement between two Centurion-forces, those of Ares/Titus.

"
A fun war-diorama inspired by the Centurion video-game series.

War is hell. It's created canons and literature about the drama of mobilization and adaptation. This is a story that illuminates some of those very-same historianship aesthetics that have forged so many creative forms of civilization construction folklore...and design.

"Two armies, beset against each other, led by two alienated brothers, Ares (a god of war), and Titus (prince of knights)."
ARES

ARES: I rule my kingdom with a sense of great architectural marvel and honor...my quest is for the statue of Helen."

Ares' mistress Milenna is a war-siren, and she's helping him prepare for a great classic battle on the field against the knight-army of centurions, matched against Ares' own centurion-army. Mileena is cool and fierce.

MILEENA: We want Ares' kingdom to maintain its aesthetic honor and presence of great social design...timeless.

The other avatar in this war-design vignette is the confident Titus, a prince of knights. Unlike Ares, Titus is much more mathematical and calculating, and he's obsessed with winning.

TITUS

TITUS: My kingdom is one of Socratic gymnasiums and bath-houses and great intellectual comforts!

Titus' mistress is the wise Kitana, a cooler customer than Ares' mistress-of-war Mileena. Unlike the fierce Mileena, Kitana is much more grounded in achievement for politics, so she advises her prince Titus to prepare for this centurion-army battle with Ares with great preparations.

KITANA: Fighting my rival Mileena, siren of Ares, will certainly invoke images of futuristic landscape mobility.

The stage is set for a climactic engagement between two centurion-forces, one led by the godly Ares and the other by the prince Titus. Who'll win?

----

ARES: Our army is focused and heated, and we're meditating on the outcome of this great ambition!

MILEENA: We shall not stand down, regardless of what Prince Titus is preparing for us on the battlefield.

----

Titus has indeed prepared a great force to challenge Ares on the battlefield, and his own centurion-knight force is one of great focus and risk-calculations. They seek to engage in a war of attrition, since that's the wisest way to deal with Ares' brute-honor soldiers. Titus' force stands on the field, awaiting Ares' army.

KITANA: We fight for the acquisition of a great bronze statue of the iconic Helen of Troy!

----

That's correct, friends. The forces of Ares/Titus are fighting for the right to own his amazing embossed statue-figurine of the iconic Helen of Troy, the timeless woman over whom was waged the historic Trojan War.

WAR-REPORT: "As the battle engages, Ares is clearly slashing through Titus' knight-forces. Titus remains wary, but Kitana gives him courage and inspiration. This becomes then a battle of patience, as Titus' knights rally to challenge Ares' honorable brute-army with a certain flair for survival...and design. First, Ares seems to be winning, but Titus' force starts to turn the tide, after Kitana and some of the other knight-soldiers fighting for their Prince begin to use their shields more wisely and end up disorienting the inner-wall flanking ahead of Ares on horseback! It seems this is going to be a stalemate-of-attrition...a timeless war of the daredevils."

HISTORIAN: We've opted to canonize this timeless Centurion-War in a series of ancient-world paintings for Brown.

In fact, this historic battle has also inspired a series of Centurion video-games, prompting youngsters all over North America to contemplate the 'sheer geometry' of courage-and-war mobilization. Their parents love it too!

KITANA: Perhaps such an engagement will create new forms of imagination among youngsters eager about governance!

MILEENA: I'm not satisfied with this cool stalemate, and perhaps the tides will favor a 're-match.'
