An elegiac ode to the resilience of the human spirit, inspired by Peter Pan and the Crow. Enjoy!

The Final War was over and humanity/Earth remained but ravaged. There were many survivors and many casualties and the new world order was known as Friends of Humanity (FOH), without national borders or identities but with a solidified centralized government overseeing commerce-bridges between cities all around the world (e.g., Paris-London, Dublin-Belfast, NY-DC, Bombay-Delhi, Tokyo-Beijing, etc.). The Final War left humanity in a state of perpetual meditation on the realism behind socialized forms of depressed apathy and transcendence-veiled dark daydreams.

In this dark-city of the post-Apocalypse, a young American woman named Gwyneth 'adopted' an orphaned little girl named Shelbye and kept her in her Boston apartment.

GWYNETH: I'll keep Shelbye to myself, veil her from post-Apocalypse 'mad world' of silent pains; we'll drink tomato juice.

Shelbye became everything to Gwyneth. She shared tomato juice with her and told her it was the blood of Christ, which would help them both 'transcend' this post-Apocalypse mad world of silent pains. The FOH government was somewhat cold and machine-like as imagined arguably, and Gwyneth/Shelbye composed a special silent sanctuary of hidden life.

This post-Apocalypse world offered an eerie gray-skies of quiet loneliness and unheard regrets stemming from the 'incomplete' FOH government scrappily formed after the Final War. This dark city was something Gwyneth/Shelbye simply tried to ignore to just move on with their solitary lives.

This was the real Inferno. There was no hope that was abound in the newspapers/media, and all talk in society was mostly confined to some semblance of peace-promotional commerce/capitalism. This was basically survival of the imagination. Because of the enduring forms of anarchy/crime and new syndicates formed in the underworld to exploit things like blood-diamond piracy, Earth was host to this post-Apocalypse 'lake of fire' brimming with the unsolved mysteries of social depression...and quiet anger.

However, a resilient semi-hero 'squad' of post-Apocalypse vigilantes calling themselves the 'Lost Boys' (a reference to an old-world JM Barrie folk-novel called Peter Pan) decided to compose a special 'underground unit' to combat the remnants of post-Apocalypse evil. The Lost Boys dealt with things like the FOH government's inability to deal with real things like crime-gangs, 'socialized rapes' in cities, child-labor hidden by neglect, and lawless torture of the meek.

LOST BOYS: We'll make this young American woman Gwyneth our special 'heroine' avatar and shield her haven with Shelbye.

Meanwhile, the sectarian violence in troubled Northern Ireland (United Kingdom) persisted between young Irish-Catholic minority population and British-Protestant majority population men, and sometimes women. The street-riots and hellfires spoke to the FOH government's inability to deal with the 'dark scope' of globalized forms of enduring lawlessness. Unemployment often led to race-related hate-crimes.

LOST BOYS: We'll deliver messages and toys to children caught in slave-labor hidden factories in this commerce-driven hell!

LOST BOYS: The poverty of children is the greatest vice of human civilization(s), which is why we're merry fortune-angels!

The Lost Boys delivered bottles of Brut cologne, quite inexpensive, to underground 'survivor clans' hiding in post-Apocalypse cities huddled to hide from the new crime-gangs like Black Mask. These Brut scent-therapy commerce 'gift' bottles delivered to the 'underground' by the valiant/resilient Lost Boys became symbols of enduring hope.

BLACK MASK GANG: When we root out these valor-driven 'Lost Boys' on Earth, we'll rule the hidden world with iron furies.

However, the Lost Boys managed to coordinate special vigilante-tactics like the stealing of blood-diamond silos from Black Mask Gang operated corrupt New World Order banks basically unmonitored by the new FOH government. Meanwhile, riot-police tried to do their best to control the flow of piracy and arson in these unregulated cities which forced Final War survivors like heroine Gwyneth and her golden-child Shelbye to just seek the havens the Lost Boys provided to offer an imagination of sanity or control!

One of the members of the Lost Boys is Amlan Satan, Algerian-American Ivy League ex-professor and now street-force vigilante hero in this New World Order after the Final War, dealing with the failures of the FOH government. Satan called himself Peter Pan, and his Lost Boys made him feel like a 'nerdist' of old-world comic books depicting 'wrought' intelligence.

Satan and his Lost Boys lived in the eerily quiet but surprisingly managed suburban area of Haddonfield (USA) where they hid Gwyneth/Shelbye as their special refugees. They encouraged these two females to entreat their creative imaginations in Haddonfield by drawing images and portraits of what they envisioned of what was still lingering as dark and depressing in this otherwise 'new world' of some salvaged 'pockets' of life-traffic, like Haddonfield.

Marcus Pointe, Canadian, is another Lost Boys hero/vigilante and is a cousin of Amlan Satan! Marcus, like Amlan, believes the only way to confront this post-Apocalypse enduring 'face' of globalized enduring anarchy/corruption was to find refugees and deliver 'totems' and diadems of real inspiration and life itself. Marcus is thinking of writing a cyber-book called The Lost Boys.

Erik Muller, German-American, is another Lost Boys member and thinks he's in love with Gwyneth and wonders if he should ask her to marry him and make Shelbye their daughter! Erik wants the Lost Boys to continue this enduring mission of salvaged hope/daydreams, a post-Apocalypse world where enduring forms of urban anarchy/crime-force (e.g., Black Mask) require real thinking about enforced ideas of democratic spirituality. Erik, a Catholic by faith, was a member of the 'Foreign Irish Republican Army' (F-IRA) in the time before the Final War and worked with guerrilla-intelligence groups with Interpol-relations to try to reduce forms of piracy in the streets of socioeconomically strained Northern Ireland.

Angel Lopes is another member of the Lost Boys vigilance-force and is a trusted friend of Amlan Satan. Angel believes the real challenge/duty of the Lost Boys is to create pockets of sanity in this new world of great socialized apathy/neglect of lingering silent darkness and crimes. Angel believes that while you can't extinguish the human instinct to entreat forms of rage and pride, you can nevertheless create 'havens' for refugees/heroes like Gwyneth/Shelbye where portraits of storytelling are indeed sane.

GWYNETH: The Lost Boys may be like Barrie's Peter Pan flying-heroes, but will humans ever transcend this urge to destroy?

LOST BOYS: Well, we can't eliminate evil itself, but we remind Gwyneth/Shelbye that hope can be something of defiance!

UK MAGAZINE: If these do-gooder 'Lost Boys' are really chefs of the cauldron of Earth, perhaps Barrie was right about fear.

SHELBYE: We love the "Lost Boys" on Earth, since they remind us of the mind's ability to make the dance.
