There I was in New Orleans, for Mardi-Gras, not knowing that in some time in the short-future, I'd be in NY on a Friday cheering for two separate games, torn (somewhat) for teams/towns biases. The Friday of value I speak of as a fan/American made toast of two special NY-teams of competition-image, a playoffs basketball picture of Knicks-Celtics that would potentially seal a NY-series triumph (Game 6), and an iconic American baseball 'subway-series' of NY state-rivalry for towns across the tracks for Mets-Yankees lore/maps. There I was in New Orleans, for Mardi-Gras, not knowing this would be my one given Friday of fanfare fried-chicken for NY-TV social media. Follow along!

Now, we all know/knew that the Boston Celtics boasted and made toast of a more 'pronounced' American culture basketball cross-states rivalry with the LA Lakers of California; but on this special superstitious Friday, a playoffs Game-6 showdown between the Knicks and Celtics would highlight (nicely!) why these two teams from two iconic pluralism-reflection East Coast cities would otherwise offer an 'alternative' to standard Lakers-Celtics fare. However, I had to wonder if NY Knicks would seal the Series win in Game 6, or if the Boston Celtics would win on the Friday's Eve and force a Game 7 (hmmm). This reminded me of video-game 'things' from my boyhood time in New Jersey (ha).

Video-games of course have become hallmark for things of superstition and ghost-magic synthetics; and I played varied baseball/basketball video-games as a boy in the American Homeland. For this special-Friday, the NY teams of Knicks-basketball and Mets/Yankees baseball would offer a same-date competition electric for something New Yorkers would consider an early-Summer treat for the post-9/11 era wearied NY-soul (Facebook-like!).

Of course, New York fans know of another very-special fanfare arena of sport/team intrigue for image, that of the 'pronounced' NY-Jets (NFL) that touted some late 20th-Century splendor for quills with the Super Bowl 'shocker-upset' of Jets-upstart QB (Joe Namath) upsetting a dominant/fave Colts team marshaled by that legend QB (Unitas). The NY-Jets then made toast of another NFL-gen intrigue for image, when hot-QB Vinny Testaverde marshaled for East Coast fans an aspiration based on pure talent/streaks (yes). Well, the special-Friday I speak of here now concerned not the 'pronounced' multi-gen fun Jets (football) but of the Knicks and Mets and Yankees for a post-9/11 era jardiniere (for the Ego!).
