The Forest

The Forest

A Poem by Christopher Holley
"

about truth under the woods

"

The red light streaks across the forest

Caressing the air and gliding though the trees

Bringing light and hope to life of the river

Which flows though to the sea

The glissening flowers pointed toward the sun

Next to where the river runs

Engulfing the landscape in beauty

Never letting the age of the land show

The memories of the past buried deep in the soil

The pain the strife the torture covered

Hidden from the eyes of all who look

Who could know of the crime committed

A single person stands in the path

Looking at the land

They have the keen eye to see

They take away the soil with there hands

The past becomes discovered

The crime uncovered

Shown in the true light that is streaking

The forest is now known and no longer in the shadows
