Brother Cat, Sister Cat

Brother Cat, Sister Cat

A Poem by Frowny
"

The tragedy he forgets

"
Beyond the closet door, where the two cats play.
A realm of darkness and rat bones will lay.
The space is confined but also endless as well.
Creatures of death and shadows here dwell.
Brother Cat, and Little Sister Cat, hunt in this maw.
Even the mighty shadows fall to their small paws.
They seek dark secrets in the corners of your mind
There is no hidden sickness that they cannot find.
You follow the two past rusted web filled cages.
Images flash through like turning mental pages.
You see her in them, but don't know her pain.
What terrible memory did you erase from your brain.
Little Sister Cat becomes to bold and moves ahead.
Brother Cat is worried, Brother Cat sense dread.
The pace is faster now racing through the pitch black.
Your heart pumps quickly, your moving too fast.
You here her cries now, the pain is getting close.
You fight not to shut your eyes, struggle with ghosts.
You scream, "I change my mind, I don't want to know"
Too late now, Brother Cat, the memory takes hold.
You see the pitiful man grunting over her small frame.
Blood in her hair, flowing in streams from the rain.
You could not save her from this terrible beast.
Your small claws too dull to stop him from his feast.
Why Alisa, Why could I not save you? You begin to cry.
All that was left was the image of her dead eyes.
The beast was never caught, you let him get away.
Forever with guilt, never forgive yourself of the blame.
Cry no more, Oh poor Brother Cat.
With slit wrist, you will join your sis within the black.
