Freezing

Freezing

A Poem by Jacob Galloway

It is cold in the midst of depression and sadness,
And of course, temperature is the farthest from my meaning.
No one told me it could be so crippling--
To live through such moments of somber.

And this sickness is the most fatal,
Because my body is not healing it,
And this irreparable fever alone,
Cannot heat out the sadness within.

There is no greater sorrow,
Than helpless sadness.

Nothing I do can fix my situation,
And even tie cannot heal these wounds.
And although most are patched by tissue of scar,
Mine remain gashes.

Across a forest, beneath a tree,
I sit, waiting for darkness to take me.
With sorrowful issues, flooding the ground to my knees,
And the sadness, darker--I cannot see.
And risen above, to drag me down...
It is over, I am gone forever.
There will be no rejuvenation here.
This is how this story ends.
