Astounded

Astounded

A Poem by Jacob Galloway

Astonishing to the mind,
And I wonder how you exist--
Does beauty take such a form?
My endeavors will take me to learn the answer.

Never in my life have I been so astounded,
My breath is taken--
And in the most beautiful way,
I cannot breathe.

A thief of hearts,
That's how I'd describe you.
Mine belongs in your thieves ransack,
Love was mine--yet now it is yours.

The clock is short,
This time is young--
But so are we,
And we have eternity.

Indignant spirit;
I kiss you as you frown?
But it would be a shame,
To only kiss you when you're down.

Days go by,
My nights become restless,
My love becomes endless,
My mind is at ease.

Incredible woman,
If you are to remember nothing else,
Do not forget this--
You set the standard for beauty.
