Ducks

Ducks

A Poem by Adnan A.

Ducks

Where do the ducks go?

in winter, when the cold

invades their homes.

When the chill breaks down ccccccccccccccdecxdgccwaZ ff asserts b doors and the winds batter snow into the grass.

Where do the ducks go, the when lakes are frozen over in slush and sleet, and bread crumbs lay hidden beneath mounds of snow?

I wonder where the ducks go, to get away.

When they're moulted and venerable.

When they burst away in flocks from winters stern embrace, where do they go?

Do they fly until its warm

fly until they're happy

fly until they're tired,

until they can't fly anymore?

where do the ducks go

when no place feels like home
