Sunset at the Ocean

Sunset at the Ocean

A Poem by Amanda

I saw the sun set the other day
Trailing ribbons bright with color;
I saw it o'er the mounting wave,
Which view is like no other.

The sky was painted gold and bronze
And lavender, I trow;
By some Immortal, Invisible Hand
The Hand of God, I know.

The streamers started out so bright,
But faded as they fell;
As if the heavenly hues therein
Were dropped into a well.

This was written a few years ago, but I still like the imagery. I know that the poetry itself isn't that great, so you don't have to inform me that it needs work.

I loved this peace! I agree with you. The imagery was wonderful, capturing the sun going down over the distant edge of the sea.
I think the form was good. It kept things simple, and the flow good. :)

I love all things nature based, and this was a joy to read and enjoy!

Beautiful writing!
