Gone

Gone

A Poem by Amanda

It does not matter where I go,
Or where I try to rest;
Your face forever fills my view
And I cannot forget
How much your love completed me
And made my life worthwhile—
Without you near I find that I
Cannot produce a smile.

I see you everywhere I look,
And memories, recall;
One for each time I’ve seen your face
Or heard you talk at all.
It’s only you I’ve ever loved
And want to hold for life;
For you could fill my empty heart
And take away all strife.
