My Dream World

My Dream World

A Poem by Aeryn L. Rose

As I sit here,
Eyes slowly drifting down,
My mind begins to wander.
Free of the day's worries,
Wings fly me to unknown far off lands.
The land below me begins to blur,
Like the oil of a new canvas,
Taking on new shapes and wonders.
Melodies sweet and pure,
Fill my soul like an over-flowing chalace.
Tucking my wings under teh midnight velvet
That has appeared on my back,
I glide into a glade of sunshine.
With the breeze gently shifting my blazen locks,
I walk throught the inviting daisies.
Where the trees begin to gather,
My gaze is met,
By that of a majestical creature.
Glinting white,
As the sun cascades down the scales,
Its violet eyes twinkle in my direction.
In awe, I become
As the dragon allows me to gently touch her snout.
A new companion
I have found.
Together we roam
This land of wishes and dreams,
Until it becomes time for my to float again
To the surface of this sublime ocean
Known as the dream world.
