Ghost LoverA Poem by AetherealA ghost interferes with a relationship.Ghost Lover
You don't know her pain when she contemplates your eyes
dodging truth to feign
clever stories based on lies.
In your smile, she sees his light. In your strength, she feels his might.
You don't know the strain of her former broken ties.
You just feel the gain
of a love that you surmise.
Each phantasmic flaming night isn't meant for your delight.
You don't know the main motivation for her sighs.
You ignore her rain
as you touch her fair sunrise.
Underneath her secret plight burns a flame that must incite.
You compete in vain with a ghost who never dies,
one not to be slain.
Only she may hear his cries.
In her dreams, they both take flight from dark shadow to bright white.
