Croatoan

Croatoan

A Poem by Aethereal
"

Story of ghost from the lost colony of Croatoan.

"
Croatoan

She hides in the shade
underneath her cloak
trying to evade
the sky's yellow yolk.

In the twilight's fade,
evening shadows poke
overtop a glade
near a stand of oak.

She walks up a grade
with her other folk
to a palisade
where old tears provoke.

She's a ghostly maid
lost in history's smoke
where great plans were laid
in old Roanoke.
