Hatchet Man

Hatchet Man

A Poem by Aethereal
"

A hatchet man's encounter with a tree.

"
Hatchet Man

On this little biosphere
seasons come and go.
Hatchet Man is coming near
with his fatal blow.

If I had a voice, I'd sneer
at my mortal foe.
He won't see my sappy tear
pouring down so slow.

My leaves clear the atmosphere
of a toxic woe
to make climate less severe.
My limbs nest the crow.

As I die, my only fear
is a dread I stow
for those friends whom I hold dear
who need me to grow.

Thanks, Brandon!
I like this Aethereal. Personification is a good literary device. When the hatchet man would come, of course a tree would fear for it's end.

This is something relatable to human. All things come and go..so as human. We come and go into this world like a wave tossed into the ocean. We don't even know when will be out time. So, as long as we live, we should enjoy our life having good relationship with others.

Thanks for a wonderful piece.
