Summer Solstice

Summer Solstice

A Poem by Aethereal
"

This is a poem about the Summer Solstice inspired by Shakespear's Sonnet 18.

"
Summer Solstice

What may I compare
with this longest day
as her thermal air
shakes the buds of May?

She climbs from her lair
as her rays array
causing dew to flare
melting grays away.

Now's her time to share
while she's here to stay.
Fair shall stray from fair
as shades dim her sway.

Death shall never snare
her eternal play.
Earth shall tilt with care
coming back this way.

Nice words, again you did a great job by your incredible thoughts. Your flow again seemed great here in this piece as well. I think last stanza's great and powerful.

Very fine writing. It flows very well in a light way and the theme is splendid. The wording is well chosen for it; fits very nicely.

This is poetry at its best. I love the rhyme meter. I literally felt the heat rising as I read. Beautiful imagery. I personally recommend Times New Roman for this style of writing. It's a classic font that is well suited for a masterpieces. A+ material.

Thanks, Shane! I had two other Summer poems, but was only allowed to enter one.
i am not a rhyme fan...but i like this poem a bunch...

i like the short tight lines...and the rhyming is done with flair and really good wording, really smart...

the theme is strong and somewhat satirical...the words never feel forced to feel the form...

excellent write...shakespeare would have been pleased with this...
