Eyes and Ears

Eyes and Ears

A Poem by Correspondence

When will I awaken

All this noise,
And yet
It is still quiet

Stay still

Don't move

Be silent

Even when I doubt,
The sounds in my head
Overtake
Me,
It is still quiet

When will you see

Or when shall you hear

This precious thing

You hold dear

Has left your arms

Eyes and ears,
One to deafen
And one for tears
