Delicate You

Delicate You

A Poem by Agogobran
"

A poem about beauty and death

"

You are a flower on my window seal
Soaking up the light.
Delicate and brittle,
Your pedals fall one by one.
Day by day,
You lose another.
Hour by hour,
You are my special flower.

You are a fruit on the mantle of God
An offering in His name.
You are eaten only by the chosen
The chosen without fame
Glory, glory to those who wait
To see their everlasting fate.
Delicate you on the edge
An offering for those who lay in bed.

You are like a beast, strong and wild
Alive and well, like a child.
Your roar is fierce, your grip is strong
Nothing can harm you. You can do no wrong.
I feel for you, my little flower,
Who loses faith hour by hour.
You lean on me, which is enough to devour
Even the heart within, delicate you … delicate flower.
