TRIP

A Poem by Akinlolu

It felt like a million years back in time
when we set out on this trip--you and I.

Traveling through WAP and
hurtling through different zones of time
in our cryogenic lullaby.

The clock stopped when you stopped to chime.
Deafening silence roars when your name I cry.

@@@

I left my heart in my body
and ventured out in my soul alone.

You were my best buddy.
We were like each other's clones.

It was an ego trip, not a hobby.
Cold blooded and heartless to the bones.

Loved the imagery in this poem, and the emotion. It has a sense of motion to it. Beautiful poem.

Thanks NormaZ. I appreciate your kind review.
It's sometimes uplifting to remember adventures like the two of you took together back when...; but when one is lost, gone for good it really hurts the other (especially if you were like clones, and your soul is alone, difficult to find its way to a safe and sunlit place....you are broken and the pieces scattered to the wind.....this is very well written and although sad, I enjoyed it very much...
