Glass

Glass

A Poem by Reuben Porter
"

A poem about someone who has sinned and gone to Hell. Only after he gets to Hell he realizes where he went wrong and thus his sins are lifted and he ascends from damnation.

"

I can sense the shadow calling me,

The darkness pulls me in.

I begin to leave this world

Drowning in my sins.

I feel myself just drifting off,

As I reach out for your hand.

My dreams return to ashes,

My body turns to sand.

I awake in this Hell,

Surrounded by the flame.

The torment of this nightmare

Is driving me insane.

I feel the fire wrap my body,

I lay and wait for it to pass.

When it's done my sins are gone,

What once was sand has become glass.

I am not religious and this poem is not to spread religious message. It is simply about one who realises where he went wrong in his life after death.
