Another Forgotten Soul

Another Forgotten Soul

A Poem by Alex Scrine

I fear the thought of being
another passing ghost
Simply existing
without a purpose
in this lost and labelled society

I refuse to part this world
without living my mark
with my words
upon people’s hearts
Inked on paper for eternity

I fear the thought
of dying as another
normal soul
Doomed to be forgotten.

I am reminded of a movie's answering line, "...So say we all."

Truth be told - so many want more than company along our paths. In our fleeting existence we want to mark our being here with a permanence - an indelible something that IS remembered ...during our presence. All too often many do feel (and ARE) forgotten and totally transparent ...and it hurts.
