Calming Shore

This one is about trauma, confronting it and healing.

I side with the gargoyles
As they guard this fragile interior
Their ghastly gaze a welcomed terror
Warding away my greatest fear
Of a ground so unfamiliar
Like a craft I am yet to master
An intangible and distant feeling
But a darkness I cannot ignore
For the dread of never truly healing
Nor ever finding that calming shore
