19 Years

19 Years

A Poem by Alexander143
"

Growth and maturity are sometimes like oranges and hydrogen... Too different!

"

I've seen the world,
And seen it over again.
Took steady steps with joy,
And dined alongside pride and pain.

I saw a thousand blessings,
And suffered many a curse.
Stepped up and down life's tides,
Felt the better and breathed the worse.

But who says 19 years-
Is just 19 years? Wise fools?
For in that stretch alone,
I walked the earth in an old man's shoes.

I've seen time before the beginning,
After the end and through every 'now.'
Time is a miracle! A metaphor! Magic!
The illusion; Not knowing how.

Time, like space and distance,-
Is a thing to one, and another to the next.
The sound of a dead past? Truth.
Life's teachers are more than just mistakes.

1, 5, 93... What's the difference?
None can tell. Digits? But what for?
24 hours is everyone's day.
But in 'the present', some find more.

Not by a digit, not just time,-
But as your think, feel and act,-
So your real age is; disposition,
The 'you' that they behold for fact!

So, hold it! Think the blind truth;
What is 19 years? Can you tell?
Wait! Think, yet again... 1... 2...19.
With a mind open wide, you can't fail.

Keep Smiling

Age is just a number!

But who says 19 years-
Is just 19 years? Wise fools?
For in that stretch alone,
I walked the earth in an old man's shoes.
