Silence, far from golden.

Silence, far from golden.

A Poem by johnnyqueer

Your lack of discussion causes me discomfort.
I invested feeling into you, gave you more
than I wanted to. The least you can do
is speak, just say something to me.

I have a feeling I want to discard,
as much as I battle it remains.
Stagnant on my tongue, I'm
so scared again. I trusted again.

Subconscious tells me that I knew
so much better. Heart whispers to
give him a little more time. I'm
torn down the center.

Come back here, occupy the empty space.
I don't mind the silence, at least I can hear
you breathing. You need not speak when
you look at me, all is said right then in silence.

"all is said right there in silence".... what a powerful last line, and what an original poem. I love your blunt, yet creative way of delivering ideas.... well done!

Silence and refusal to communicate can cut deeper than the most hateful words. Uncertainty is more damaging that knowing what the person really thinks.
A well constructed piece that flows nicely.
