Grin and Bear it

a really bad time in my life

For everything we hold dear in life

there is a price

no clearance sales

no overstock markdowns

no red tag blue light specials

sometimes the price is so high

we sell our bodies and our souls

to acquire what we desire

and as the man holding the reins

grunts over my remains

hot tears roll down my cheeks

and the streetwalker says

just grin and bear it
