A Walk

A Walk

A Poem by Alice Patinkin

I think I'll take a walk today

The sky is blue, the air is clean

And if I take a walk today

Will there be new things to see?

They say there always will be

But how could they know what tomorrow will bring?

I look outside my window

Soon it will be spring.

I'd like to take a walk today

Walking slow, no hurry please

And if I take a walk today

Would you spare your time to join me?

The world is all so caught up

In a spider web of broken dreams

And in the sky is brewing

Your nightmare eulogy.

I like the dreamy nature of the last few passages it gives me the impression that some days you take a walk and some days you dream of it. Maybe that might spawn a comparison between your dreams and your life and how they get so similar sometimes telling them apart makes you lose control of both hence the brewing nightmare eulogy. Thinking to much maybe but it lovely to see someones actually taken it on board.
