Embracing and facing real feelings

Embracing and facing real feelings

A Poem by Alida

I hide in my own shadow

create a light so bright that no one might

think

that something is hiding within, dying

to get out

bask in the task of breaking a mask

too clever for my own good

act so well, you could not tell

me

to be honest, suggest a protest

and I will lie

hide the anger, the strangler, the answer

I am stepping into the light

each step a regret that I forget

forever

honesty turned travesty into majesty

proud

over being a feeling with true meaning

Author's Note

Alida
A bit vague, I know, but it's about daring to show anger when things aren't right in the world.
