Cold

Cold

A Poem by Star Cross

Who am I for you to treat differently?
Why is it that when I speak
You don't listen?

I just want you to be with me.
To hear my expressions
Of how much I love you, yet
You slip away from my palms like ice.

You don't see what I'm going through,
You just see what's happening inside of the box
The box that will never open.
You say you hate how I look
I say I hate what you've became.

The world is falling apart,
Can't you see?
All of these words of hatred just contributes to it
For it is what they want.
For us to be cold
And destroy ourselves.

I can't lose you.
You say that I do not matter, yet
You don't see that you're the only thing that matters to me.
As the seasons go on by
I watch you fall.
You are so cold that nothing will melt you.
As you and I fade apart
Those memories we had
Will be all gone.

I try not to cry
But my mind is scattering around as if we're running out of time.

One year
Two years
Three years.

By then,
All of the petals of a flower will fall.

Please try and fight to see what you've become.

Gosh... I can relate to every word! I have been in a relationship that I was the only one fighting to keep it going! It was horrible, I lost so much weight from it. Times have changed and he finally saw what he had lost. He made a great change and we have been together ever since! Most important, I am now very happy! I really Hope that everything will work out!
Great poem!
I really can feel how you feel!

you pour every emotion into this piece, good write. Yet, i still do not know who it is about... to write as poets do, most writers even, they expose the wounds or shout out their triumph and happiness --this sometimes means even naming names or places or discribe the picture in your head (with metaphor, allusion, and other devices). You're going to be a force to be reckoned with, already can see that in the emotion you lay out before us readers. Can't wait to read more, oh and try different styles it's fun AND educational, lol. Really well done. I can relate, but I can never get close enough to someone to feel any of this. I have paranoia, but you have found someone and is living the fear. Excellent piece of work.
